The Wait Is Over... Sort Of...

We found out last week that we are finally getting our baby!!!!! It seems like we've been waiting for so long and at the same time it seems like it happened over night. We started the process over 3 years ago. The paperwork took a looooong time. There were child abuse clearances, back ground checks, physicals, finger printing and more. I spent last spring running all over NJ and NY getting everything signed, stamped and authenticated. I had some really crappy days. I was exhausted and sure it was never going to happen. And I cried and cried and cried. But none of that matters (I can barely remember feeling so bad) We have our baby, Benjamin. And he is the most beautiful baby I've ever seen. I cannot wait to kiss those cheeks! Now we just have to wait until the summer to bring him home.

Ben was in the waiting child program in China. He was born with a cleft lip and pallet. His lip has been repaired but we'll get his pallet repaired once he gets home. More to come on this.

I've had so many people ask me about the process and who want to keep up with us as we get closer to bringing our little boy home so here is our blog. I'll keep it updated as we count down the days... in the mean time here is our little guy, Ben.
